Fort Verde Days: October 11th & 12th, 2009
Fort Verde State Historic Park held its annual "Fort Verde Days" event on October 11th & 12th, 2009. The park celebrated Fort Verde Days with a flag-raising and lowering ceremony, living history presentations with the Buffalo Soldiers and Indian Wars period re-enactors, special presentations, a fashion show, cavalry drills and a vintage baseball game. On Saturday, at the Rio Verde Roverettes conducted an equestrian drill. There were also Cannon demonstrations on Saturday. Buffalo Soldier Re-enactors were on hand throughout the weekend. The weekend offers the public a chance to get a glimpse of the past, while celebrating Fort Verde Days with a town parade, rodeo and more.
