Fort Verde Days: October 11th & 12th, 2009

Fort Verde State Historic Park held its annual "Fort Verde Days" event on October 11th & 12th, 2009. The park celebrated Fort Verde Days with a flag-raising and lowering ceremony, living history presentations with the Buffalo Soldiers and Indian Wars period re-enactors, special presentations, a fashion show, cavalry drills and a vintage baseball game. On Saturday, at the Rio Verde Roverettes conducted an equestrian drill. There were also Cannon demonstrations on Saturday. Buffalo Soldier Re-enactors were on hand throughout the weekend. The weekend offers the public a chance to get a glimpse of the past, while celebrating Fort Verde Days with a town parade, rodeo and more.

Enjoy pictures from the vintage baseball game between the Fort Verde Excelesiors (left) and the Glendale Gophers (right). Mayor of Camp Verde Bob Burnside played for the Fort Verde Excelesiors!

Special thanks to: All the Volunteers and Historical Re-Enactors.
